Terms of Service

Encyclopedia of Jiu-Jitsu is a reference platform that organizes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques, positions, and systems into structured visual maps. The Service is provided “as is” for educational and reference purposes only.

The Service is not a substitute for in-person instruction. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu involves physical risk. You are responsible for your own safety and should train under qualified supervision.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Keep your password secure
• Be responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

The Service offers a free tier with limited content and a paid subscription that unlocks additional content.

Subscription details:

• Price: USD 9.00 per month
• Billing: Monthly, automatically renewed
• Payment: Processed by Stripe; we do not store your payment details
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period
• Refunds: All payments are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not affect the current billing period.

You agree not to:

• Share, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content
• Use the Service to harm others or violate any law
• Attempt to access the Service through unauthorized means
• Circumvent paywalls, scrape content at scale, or reverse engineer the platform
• Use the Service to train machine learning models or compete with us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.

All content on the Service, including roadmaps, technique descriptions, written material, and visual structure, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service for your own training and reference. You may not republish, redistribute, or commercialize the content.

Third-party videos and external resources linked from the Service remain the property of their respective owners.

Some features may use third-party AI services to generate responses. Outputs are provided for informational purposes only and may contain inaccuracies. Do not rely on AI outputs for safety-critical decisions.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content is accurate, complete, or current.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability in any matter relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded under Brazilian consumer protection law (Código de Defesa do Consumidor).

You may stop using the Service at any time by canceling your subscription and closing your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for operational reasons, with reasonable notice where practical.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of São Paulo, SP, Brazil, except where applicable consumer protection law allows you to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
